We teamed up with local melodic rock band, Graces Collide, to shoot the music video for Ride, the first single release from their debut album.
Filmed at St. Paul’s Worthing – a Grade II-listed building originally opened in 1812 as a chapel and now functioning as an arts centre – the aim was to create a moody, high-energy performance piece that dominates the tranquil backdrop.
Adopting changes of tempo, shots were captured in a combination of real-time, slow motion and high-speed. A lens effect was also used while filming close-up onstage among Graces Collide to create an erratic, climactic feel during the song’s guitar solo.
Band members were heavily backlit, partnered with striking strobe lighting, an abundance of smoke, and… wind (thanks to a giant fan pumping out 10 cubic metres of air per second).
