It's simple, happy and healthy people = happy and healthy business.

We are glowing with delight at our recent award win for Wellbeing at the Federation of Small Businesses Awards (FSB)
These awards ‘seek to recognise and champion the incredible steps taken by those small businesses that are creating an environment for their employees to succeed’.

For Wellbeing, The FSB judges were looking for ‘an effective, holistic strategy which has had a proven and significant positive impact on the wellbeing of its workforce.’

Championed by our studio manager and wellbeing guru Melanie Yates, Tilt jumped at the opportunity to apply for this award with our signature enthusiastic style. We explained how we developed our wellbeing offering by taking the time to really talk to individual team members about what they really wanted, and needed, to be happier and healthier at work.

We are a diverse bunch, so no ‘cookie cutter’ solution was going to work. We needed a unique and holistic combination of culture, benefits and employee experience; from a private health-plan that sees the benefit of an acupuncture treatment as equal to a trip to the hygienist, to our sustainability and governance policies, to our games nights and outdoor sports events…most notably our outdoor sports charity fundraising challenge, ‘Lockdown Laps’

Our wellbeing strategy has been the bedrock in our ability to thrive through tough times. It’s been put to the test through remote working, but we appear to have an unbreakable bond. We Are Tilt’s recipe for genuine team cohesion; combine creative collaboration, supportive leadership, a healthy dash of competitive spirit.. and a generous dollop of a shared love of the absurd. Bingo.

Business-wise, we have definitely seen the benefits. Our good vibes have proved contagious; existing clients and new prospects alike could witness how we look after our people, have fun, win awards and ultimately make great work – and they gave us more of it. Our turnover grew by more than 20%, our culture attracted a number of high-quality talent to help deliver all the new projects, and our permanent employee base has increased by over 30%

All of this shone through to the FSB judges and was reflected in the audience’s empathetic and celebratory reaction to our acceptance speeches.

We dined on shared tables at the event and when a guest on our table asked which award we were up for and why, we talked about our MD’s wellbeing brain-child Lockdown Laps, his response was – “wow, just brilliant, now why didn’t I think of that for my team!?”

Well done Team Tilt – this award is so well-earned and nestles right in there with pride amongst the snazzy project awards.
