The Brief
How can we facilitate the efficient adoption of hybrid working and position KPMG as the best destination for talent?
The Solution
Craft an immersive, best-in-class learning journey and suite of experiences delivered seamlessly into the daily routines of employees.
Background
As an industry leader, KPMG were quick to embrace modern working practices. The transition to hybrid working was positive, but from our Discovery phase, it was clear that soft skills and balancing work and life needed much improvement – we proposed a suite of learning ‘packs’ delivered at point-of-need. KPMG’s response was “how quickly can we have them?”
We got to work researching the channels and tools available to deliver these learning packs, ensuring that they were available exactly when they were needed.
We also created a marketing campaign to support the transition and make everyone aware of the learning available.
Learning Packs
THE SPACE WE WORK IN
A social campaign combining video shorts, images and text to help people get the most out of their out-of-office workspace:
- How lighting setup at home can impact your workday and how to set up your work environment.
- How what you dress in out-of-office can positively impact remote working.
- Hacks to keep on top of things, and how a tidy desk minimises distraction, increases productivity, and improves creativity.
Breathwork
Multi-option, micro podcasts on simple breathing techniques delivered in a non-prescribed order to help employees transition from negative to positive emotions and states.
The Power of Lunch
A pack that encourages employees to take a break away from the screen and complete ‘challenges’. The challenges are designed to divert attention from work and encourage participants to step out of their comfort zones.
The tasks range from calling a friend out of the blue, to going for a walk and photographing what they see. Participants are prompted to share their experiences on KMPG’s social channels to foster a sense of community and encourage colleagues to join in.
Learning Packs
Hybrid meetings
This pack came in two parts: written tips for hybrid meeting hosts, and video tips for meeting participants.
For the hosts, there is an arsenal of tips and advice on how to run meetings in an intentionally inclusive way.
The second part helps participants understand how certain behaviours can help or hinder the meeting’s success. This pack consists of six comedy sketches called Hybrid Meeting Masterclass with Caz Coogan – a mockumentary-style series where ‘Caz’ runs workshops with real and unsuspecting KPMG employees.

THE SPACE WE WORK IN: SOUND
Micro-learning that helps employees to recognise and manage sound disruptions, and understand how this will enhance focus, reduce stress, and support active participation in virtual meetings. The pack includes community challenges to share inspirations and views from home.
Pomodoro
This time management technique, inspired by Italian kitchen timers shaped like tomatoes has become a widely embraced productivity tool. Using this tool can prove invaluable for people who:
• Are frequently distracted.
• Work past peak productivity.
• Handle open-ended tasks.
• Have an optimistic task estimation.
• Thrive under deadline pressure.
This pack, explains how and why the technique works, and has links to for employees to download dedicated Pomodoro timers.
CLOSE WFH DAY
This pack emphasises the importance of setting clear boundaries to create a distinct separation between work and home. The primary focus is on a smooth transition at the end of the workday, which involves not only shutting down devices but also mentally disengaging from work-related tasks.
The learning pack spans two weeks, delivering a curated activity on each work-from-home day.
Learning Packs
Task Audit – plan a week
These activities prompt learners to look ahead and take control, emphasising the importance of dedicating time and space for proper engagement.
Plan a week not a day
Inspired by Chill Beats (To Study To), we created a set of motion graphics which take the learner through the steps needed to plan their week effectively.

The ambient pieces focus the mind, while the narrator helps the listener flip this mundane task into something to look forward to, which will benefit their future selves.
Task audit
This helps employees to effectively audit their weekly tasks. Using the Kanban solution, people can visualise workflow, identify bottlenecks, and enhance productivity, in easy-to-follow steps.
Heck Yes/Hell No
This equips learners with guidance and tools on how to evaluate requests effectively, enabling participants to confidently accept or decline based on their goals and skills.
While saying “yes” comes naturally, saying “no” poses challenges because of how this may come across. This pack aims to shift collective thinking, emphasising that declining one request means making room for another. The goal is to promote proactive problem-solving through responses like “No, but…” – encouraging individuals to actively seek solutions for their colleagues.

“This has been a fantastic project to work on. Collaborating with Tilt helped to give us fresh ideas and innovative approaches. What has been really exciting is the opportunity to grow our community from the ground up, meeting with people from across the business to discover what they need and how we can help them. Feedback from around the business has been great.”
