What it takes – Soft Skills

Creative ability. It's what helps us get noticed. But it isn't everything; maintaining tip-top soft skills is what keeps us in our jobs, says animator extraordinaire, Max Tyrie.

In short, if you’re nailing the following list, you’ve got nothing to worry about…

  • Understand that you are being paid to create content for somebody else’s vision.
  • Be willing to accept criticism and learn from it.
  • Hone the ability to kill your darlings (that’s right, that gratuitous super-cool backflip shot has to go, I’m afraid).
  • Be open to doing mundane things.
  • Show your work often.
  • Keep those expectations in check; be realistic about the work you will be tasked with.
