As the BAi360 opened to the general public this week, Tilt had the privilege of being present at the preview flight due to our digital partnership.
The world's first vertical pier did not disappoint.
Upon first arriving at the venue it was clear to see how much work had gone into getting the experience ready for public flights. The BA i360 team have worked tirelessly to create an experience, rather than simply a viewing platform. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you are part of something ‘a little different’, they truly have created something that personifies the cutting edge of Brighton, whilst simultaneously embracing its rich history.
I am sure by now you will have seen many pictures surfacing online showcasing the view, however photos just don’t do this justice. As you rise up in the pod, Brighton shrinks and the South Downs, Isle of Wight (and even France on a good day) rise up from the horizon, giving you a full uninterrupted spherical view of our beautiful city and its surroundings. Perhaps the most impressive for me is how rather than overshadow the West Pier, the view gives you a new unique perspective of this fantastic piece of Brighton’s heritage, a symbiotic relationship that is prevalent from the moment you arrive at the venue.
We were personally very proud to see our mobile app animations, Welcome movie and incidental big screen animations being used across the venue, helping people to understand more about the flight they were about to embark on. In today’s transient digital world, it’s fantastic to see the outputs of your hard work being used in physical environments (not quite Pokemon Go but nice nevertheless). Check out the Welcome movie above and a time-lapse of part of our ascent in the pod below.
Great fun, great experience, get yourselves on-board.
