Farmer: The Creator

It's December; cue images of a manger full of hay for a crib, a little donkey, cattle are lowing, lambs bleating and asses doing whatever it is asses do.

And food, glorious food everywhere.

And Farmers as the creators of this bounty. So entwined with our community, what we eat, and our relationships with animals.

Our probono work for Brighton & Hove Food Partnership gave us an opportunity to work on an initiative that benefits our local community while nurturing the very land from which it derives: local small farmers, farming with regenerative methods that support nature, and visible high animal welfare.

Meet Sussex Grazed.

A project with massive integrity. Meat straight from the farmer to the community member with no slippery middleman. A meat box delivery with extraordinary provenance.

The Food Partnership works with Sussex landowners, farmers & residents to run a local meat box scheme as part of the National Trust led ‘Changing Chalk’ project and literally supporting the wildlife and landscape of the diverse grasslands on our Sussex horizon.

At its core, this initiative seeks to foster a deeper connection between consumers and producers, reviving the age-old tradition of knowing where one’s food comes from. By supporting local farmers and landowners, residents of Sussex are not only investing in the economy but also preserving the cultural heritage of the region.

Don’t eat meat? Supporters who choose a meat-free diet still see the importance of higher welfare meat from local producers. One of the most significant advantages of the Sussex Grazed scheme is its positive environmental impact. Sustainable grazing practices play a crucial role in regenerating soil health, enhancing biodiversity, and mitigating climate change.

At Tilt, creativity runs through everything we do—from crafting bold campaigns to designing meaningful connections. But we believe our creativity doesn’t stop at the work we deliver; it’s also about finding innovative, real ways to give back to the community. Our relationship with the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership feels proper, genuine.

Come snow, come rain, come sunshine. For what they do 365 days a year. We thank the good Farmers.
