It's not every day we get to meet a farmer.
We sat down with Farmer Frances to talk wet weather strategy at the Sussex Grazed celebration, hosted by our charity partner Brighton & Hove Food Partnership.
The event was a moment to celebrate everything Sussex Grazed has accomplished; and to look ahead. A room full of the right people, exploring where the project goes next.
That’s the kind of story we’re drawn to. Not the neat, tied-up kind. The kind that’s still being written.
Fresh from BBC News and The Times, Sussex Grazed is proving that conservation grazing from the South Downs deserves a much bigger stage.
Our pro bono rebrand helped give it one. A vibrant, adaptable identity built to reflect the organic diversity of the Downs itself. Because behind the brand is something worth fighting for … regenerative agriculture that sequesters carbon, restores soil, supports biodiversity and builds climate resilience. Great meat. Thriving wildlife. A landscape looked after properly.
Food is never just fuel. It connects people. It changes lives.
As a B Corp, this is exactly where we want to be. Work that lasts. People over ideas. No sugar water.
Brighton & Hove Food Partnership brought together the farmers, the partners and the believers who’ve made Sussex Grazed what it is; and opened the door to whatever it becomes next.
Life-changing stories in unexpected places. This one’s far from over.
